Saturday 10th May - see Events for details 2008 sees us entering a new realm. Working in schools with the digderidoo. We have completed one workshop at Keighley's Eastwood Primary School which was recently brought out of Special Measures. In a day of workshops we gave every child in the school (465 of them) chance to play a genuine termite hollowed didge. It was hard work! Our next workshop is at a school for teenagers with emotional and behavioural difficulties. Another challenge. If you think we may be able to work in a school near you please get in touch and discuss it. We can also offer songwriting and recording workshops, singing sessions, and healing sound with gongs, singing bowls, tuning forks and didge. We can work one-to-one or in large groups with mainstream or special needs. Nelsons Open Mic We have taken over the running of the monthly open mic night at Nelsons Wine Bar on the first Sunday of each month. Check out our News and Events pages for details. The little chap at the top of the page is Kokopelli an ancient American Indian Legend. He was a figure of fun fertility and mischief, bringing good fortune and healing with his magic flute. He probably didn't play a piano or a didge, but we bet he would have done if he'd ever found one! We see him as the spirit of music, wandering across the globe bringing music to people, with all that music can do. He would recognise our amazing Didgeridoos from another ancient people, the Australian Aborigines, used in the same way as his flute, for ceremony and magic. He would understand our interest in sound and music as a healing force and our desire to help others to make music, by helping them to find their own musical resonance The spirit of Kokopelli is here at Pied Piper Pianos, come and catch it, take an instrument home, experience healing sound, meet other musicians, play a didge, bang a drum, sing a song, have a chat, do a little dance, learn music, teach us music - join in the mischief and the magic!
